We are looking for a CB FuSa SME to join our team.
The Power Inverter Module Control and Gate Driver Board Functional Safety (FuSa) expert will have global responsibilities for STLA’s PE control board product development and research for all electric vehicle platforms which include mHEV, HEV, PHEV and BEV. The engineer must have working knowledgeable in functional safety (ISO-26262). The FuSa expert will be responsible for creating or advising on the creation of the FMEDA for each control board. This includes the calculation of single point fault metric, latent fault metric, probabilistic metric of hardware failures and associated diagnostic coverages for this calculation. The engineer must be a systems-focused team player with interdisciplinary experience/expertise, willing to work in a fast-paced environment.
The Power Inverter Module Control and Gate Driver Board FuSa expert will advise the team on hardware design choices to reach necessary tolerances on inputs and outputs to achieve the technical safety goals specified for the project. The FuSa expert will also mentor other engineers in their area of expertise and represent the hardware team in cross-functional safety forums.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
>Develop cost effective and reliable PE Control Boards using cutting edge technologies, simulation tools and test/evaluation equipment
>Establish and apply PE control board best practices from design to product launch, including supporting validation and testing
>Support creating Component Specifications from vehicle, system and software requirements including requirements for Durability, Warranty, Safety and Performance at component level
>Support development of Power Electronics Control Board DVP&R and all required development/validation testing to ensure achievement of all functional objectives and assure compliance to program goals
>Participate in supplier assessments and Critical Design Reviews of Power Inverter Control Board requirements, algorithms and deliverables
>Participate in post-test inspection reviews including detailed failure analysis and recommend changes to product specifications as necessary.
>Develop/enhance PE Control Board Tools, Methods, and Test Platforms
>Provide subject matter expertise, mentoring, and managing problem resolution teams
>Work with Inverter Hardware Teams and Suppliers
>Work with cross-function/vehicle teams, suppliers, and universities to develop/implement advanced technologies for next generation electric vehicle technologies
>Maintain relevant technical documents, best practice, and sign-off documents
Requisitos
Basic Qualifications:
>Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
>experience in electronics and circuit design, development, fabrication, validation
>Experience in Functional Safety (ISO 26262)
• Vast experience in FMEDA (Failure Modes Effects and Diagnostic Analysis) <- Mandatory!
• Good understanding of single point and latent faults
• Experience with DFMEA and/or FTA
• Good understanding of diagnostic coverage
>In-depth understanding of Power Electronics
>Experience in power supply design
>Experience in microcontroller families, architectures, and hardware-software interface
>Experience in controller communications and sensor interfaces
>Experience in development of DFMEA, DVP&R, and Validation Plans
>Experience in electronics Simulation Tools
>Demonstrated critical thinking and technical problem-solving ability
>Highly rated for leadership and teamwork
>Excellent written and verbal communication skills
>Strong interest in the automotive industry and electrified powertrain systems
Preferred Qualifications:
>Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering Degree
>Senior experience in electronics and circuit design, development, fabrication, validation
>Experience with Altium Designer Schematic Capture and PCB layout tools
>Experience with electric motor and inverter Controls and Software
>Understanding of electrified vehicle fundamentals
>Outstanding interpersonal skills, self-motivated and able to work independently
>Knowledge in DFSS methodologies
>Ability to travel internationally (1% to 5%)
